Movember at Pan Pacific Vancouver


November proved to be a busy month at the Hotel. Not only were we ramping up for our annual Christmas Wish Breakfast, but the men at the Pan were busy raising money forMovember, a global movement to raise awareness of various cancers, such as prostate and testicular cancer. From first year Mo Bros to a third year Mo Bro, our fellas banded together to change the face of men’s health and in so doing, raised over $3,600 for the cause, thus beating last year’s total donations by $600. Way to go!

Pan Pacific Christmas Wish Breakfast Contest! *CLOSED*


Win a one night Bayview Suite stay with breakfast!

On November 26, the 28th Annual Pan Pacific Christmas Wish Breakfast will take place in the lobby of the Hotel from 6am-9am. The hotel with media partners Global BC andRock 101 will be inviting Vancouverites to donate a new, unwrapped toy to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. As a thank you, a hot, delicious buffet breakfast will be on the house.
As well, we’re holding a contest for those attending to enter to win a one night stay in aBayview Suite, with breakfast! **
Here are the deets:
Post on Facebook, tweet on Twitter or post to Instagram! But in order to be eligible, all updates, tweets or photos must be tagged with #PanXmasWish. 
Take a photo of the crowd, the toy pile, the buffet breakfast, the entertainers – anything that captures the Christmas spirit. The choice is yours, so be creative!
Oh, did we also mention that there will be a selfie booth at the event? Selfies at the booth or on the floor will also be accepted!

Donate a toy. Enjoy a hot breakfast. Feel Good!


Back for its 28th year is the Pan Pacific Vancouver’s Annual Christmas Wish Breakfast. The Hotel, alongside partners Global BC and Rock 101 are back for another epic toy drive benefiting the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau on Thursday, November 26, from 6am-9am.
Vancouverites are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the hotel. As a thank you, Pan Pacific Vancouver will provide a hot buffet breakfast on the house!
The entire event will be broadcast live on Global TV with morning new anchor, Steve Darling, and with Rock 101’s DJ Willy Percy.
Last year’s event set a new record with over 5,000 Vancouverites dropping off over 40,000 lbs of toys476 bikes and over $20,000 in cash donated to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau!



Come down on Thursday, November 26 between 6am-9am to contribute to our massive toy pile and join thousands in the spirit of Christmas!

Toys Needed for Christmas Wish Breakfast!


Each year we ask Vancouverites to join us at the Hotel for our annual Christmas Wish Breakfast and donate a new, unwrapped toy to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau, in order to make Christmas special for families in need.
The gift most commonly given are stuffed animals for little kids – however teenagers are in the most need of toys during the holiday season.
While the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau appreciates ALL gifts given, they would like to request that donors offer toys for tweens and teens and even helped put together a wish list for Santa!

28th Annual Christmas Wish Breakfast is Right Around the Corner!


The Pan Pacific Christmas Wish Breakfast is all about giving to those in need and sharing in the festive spirit of Christmas.
Each year, the Hotel hosts one of Canada’s largest toy drives where the public is asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau for families in need. As a thank you to everyone who makes a donation, the Hotel will be offering a free hot buffet breakfast at the Cafe Pacifica Restaurant.

Long-time media partners Global TV morning news anchor Steve Darling, as well as, Rock 101‘s DJ Willy Percy, will be joining us for a live broadcast on Thursday, November 26 from 6am-9am.


Watch out for performances from the Goh BalletLangley Ukuleles, country music starMadelyn Merlo, and the Good Noise Gospel Choir, who will be singing on the Five Sails staircase again this year.


Keep an eye out for Santa Clause, and volunteers from the City of Vancouver Fire Department, who will be in charge of stacking the toys into a towering “tree” in the Pan Pacific Vancouver lobby. After the event, the firemen will transport the toys to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau warehouse, where they will be sorted and distributed to families in need.


Last year’s event set a new record when over 5,000 generous Vancouverities donated over40,000 lbs of toys476 bikes and over $20,000 in cash donated to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau!

Cafe Pacifica’s New Fall Menu


It’s time of year again when Cafe Pacifica’s most talented chefs come up with a new and mouth-watering seasonal menu. A couple of weeks ago, the staff gathered together and sampled all the latest dishes. And what was the consensus? An enthusiastic and resounding “More, please!”
Here are some of the newest creations:
Pink Peppercorn Albacore Tuna with quinoa, edamame beans, pickled onions, yuzu dressing, and jalapeno and carrot puree

Farmers Market Lollo Rosso Salad with goat cheese fritters, baby farmed beets, pecan and honey huckleberry dressing

Caramalized Scallop and Pork Belly with butternut squash puree, baby leeks and squash chips

Haida Gwaii Sable Fish with maple soy marinade, mushrooms, baby corn, cherry tomato, daikon, edamame cracker and yuzu gel

Grilled Scallop and Prawn Paella with saffron risotto, peas, peppers, garlic, white wine, chorizo, Cajun chicken and crispy calamari

Roasted Pumpkin and Goat Cheese Ravioli with kale, oyster mushroom, garlic, parmesan, ricotta, boursin and, acorn squash chips

Seared BC Salmon with Pemberton potatoes, lobster hash, truffle infused jus and baby carrots

Traditional Mixed Grill with flat iron steak, garlic tiger prawn, pork tenderloin, chorizo sausage, tomato chutney hollandaise, red cabbage and, brussels sprouts

Maple and Truffle Glazed Free Ranged Chicken Breast with butternut squash, parmesan cheese, risotto butter, carrots and, brussels sprouts

Beef Short Rib Poutine with fries, cheese curds, and beef gravy

We can’t believe it’s already November! Where did the year go?! Now that Thanksgiving and Halloween are over, we’re all ramping up for winter socials and holiday parties. But before we get to that, there’s still lots of things to see and do in Vancouver during November.

Body Worlds: Animal Inside Out – Science World

In 2009 Hofesh Shechter wowed Vancouver audiences with Uprising and In Your Rooms. Canada’s Men’s National Team will open the next round of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Qualifiers at BC Place in Vancouver. The all-important, international fixture will pit Canada against Honduras.

Sensational Melodies – Orpheum Theatre

Maestro Bramwell Tovey conducts sensational British pianist Stephen Hough, in a performance of Schumann’s brilliant and melodic Classical masterpiece, the Piano Concerto in A minor. Rounding out the program is Wagner’s beautiful Prelude to Act III of Tristan und Isolde, and Bartok’s fantastic Concerto for Orchestra.

Thousands of Vancouverites and tourists will gather around Burrard Street to experience the annual fireworks display at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Patrick Maliha – The Comedy Mix

Patrick Maliha is the world record holder for most impressions in one minute – beating out the previous record holder, Dana Carvey. His act has been described as Ray Romano meets a 21st century Don Rickles.
Lights of Hope – St. Paul’s Hospital

An annual fundraising campaign to support St. Paul’s Hospital. This spectacular display features more than 200 shining stars and 10km of twinkling lights all built by volunteers using donated materials.
Candytown at Yaletown – Mainland Street

Lights and candy canes will adorn lamp poles and costumed characters will parade down the street. Holiday shoppers are invited to start their seasonal gift buying in Yaletown with local merchants as well as a specialty market carrying unique gifts and holiday treats.
