Spring is right around the corner, and believe it, Vancouver can’t wait for it to get here! So what’s happening in our fair city in March? Plenty. The Lengendary Itzhak Perlman – Orpheum Theatre

The one and only Itzhak Pearlman. Simply one of the greatest musicians to ever hold an instrument. Legendary violionist Itzhak Perlman returns t the VSO to perform Bruch’s remarkable Violin Concerto No. 1. VSO Music Director Bramwell Tovey conducts this once-in-a-lifetime concert that will also includes Maestro Perlman performing the heartbreaking theme from Schindler’s List, by John Williams.

Russian Classics – Orpheum Theatre

A program of great Russian classics is conducted by accomplished young Scottish conductor Rory Macdonald. Menuhin Competition-winner Angelo Xiang Yu is one of classical music’s fastest-rising stars, and he performs Prokofiev’s graceful Violin Concerto No. 2.

In Nagasaki at the turn of the 20th century, a pleasure-seeking American naval officer named Pinkerton leases a house and marries a young geisha. He is only briefly enchanted with his “Butterfly”, but she is totally and forever committed to the marriage.
St Patrick’s Day Parade Vancouver – Howe Street

Join thousands of happy spectators lining the route to cheer on 2000+ parade participants. They’ll include award-winning pipe and rum bands, Celtic musicians, Scottish and Irish dancers, acrobats, stilt walkers, vintage cars, the Vancouver police motorcycle drill team and pipe band, fire and police dogs, mounted horse drill teams, multicultural organizations and performers, local businesses, distinguished guests and lots more.

Go Dog Go! – Waterfront Theatre at Granville Island

PD Eastman’s classic children’s book comes to live on stage in an exploration of movement, colour and music. The dogs delve into life with gusto, creating a visual spectacle for the audience to feast upon. They snorkel. They howl at the moon. They ride a ferris wheel. They sing and dance and climb trees. The musical’s bustle and commotion pauses every so often for a moment or two of reflection and then sweeps us again into the whirlwind of these lovable and goofy dogs.

Return to Grace (An Elvis Tribute) – Queen Elizabeth Theatre

Following its hugely successful 2014 run at Toronto’s majestic Ed Mirvish Theatre, Return to Grace comes to Vancouver’s QE Theatre as part of its 2016 Canadian tour. A glorious, heartfelt tribute to a music icon featuring over 30 singers, dancers and musicians on stage.
Body Worlds: Animal Inside Out – Science World
Event dates: October 3-March 28
Animal Inside Out features over 100 preserved animal specimens ranging from the common pigeon to an expertly dissected camel. Visitors will be able to check out what’s under the skin of some spectacular animals and determine what makes us the same – and different.
Easter Train in Stanley Park – Stanley Park Miniature Train

Hope on the Stanley Park Train for an egg-citing Easter ride through Stanley Park. After the train ride, your kids will enjoy hunting for eggs, playing games, making bunny ears, getting their faces painted, meeting the Easter Bunny and much more! Open rain or shine.
Easter Bunny visit FlyOver Canada – FlyOver Canada

Guests will soar coast to coast across Canada with the Easter Bunny from 11am to 3pm. After the ride, enjoy a festive colouring station, have your face painted for free (Sun and Mon only for the face painting) and take your best guess at the jar of chocolate eggs contest.
Czech Masters – Orpheum Theatre
